ASHVILLE to NASHVILLE 2003 Road trip

continued

Well the latest Waffle House Jukeboxes now have 34 songs available all written around a Waffle House theme. Thirty four ! These talented artists have really, really, been inspired by those covered and smothered hash browns.

Here you can see along with the hits of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, such Waffle House greats as "I Feel Good(at The Waffle House)". It's  Hash Browns not James Brown, but you will find odes such as "Waffle House Hash browns (I Love You).  It's chopped potato heady stuff, also check out the soon to be classic,  "Why would you eat your grits anyplace else?".

Here we see other selects including "Make Mine With Cheese" co-written by Woody Mankowski. Now I looked up Woody as my curiosity about these composers and their motivation got the best of me . Woody it turns out has performed and recorded with Howard Levy, harp player and founding member of Bela's Flecktones and Randy Brecker so we are not talking unknown talent here. As for the rest of these musicians, it will remain a mystery as to how one gets a tune on a jukebox  inspired by lets say a fine "Grill Operator" at that ubiquitous American road side attraction.

First I went looking for sightings of my life sized  holographic portrait of Les Paul. There was a reference to it in a Gibson Cafe on a Google search for Les Paul and Hologram. My estranged "partner" on this holographic project had not mentioned that he had arranged for it to be shown there. Ah the pleasures of  falsely shared attribution.

We went to a mall in which there was a Gibson Bluegrass guitar shop in search of the lost hologram chord.

A lone girl makes a cell call at the malls exterior.

The nice folks at the Gibson shop hadn't seen my hologram but they did direct me to the now defunct Gibson Cafe in downtown Nashville.

The Nashville skyline has changed since I was last there, and it's as beautiful as any big cities' vista.

While Elvis may have left the building, Elvis-like sightings are everywhere here in Music City

We went to a great place that just might possibly be worth the hour and a half wait to be seated .

Joe's have-you-got-an-hour-and-a-half-to wait Crab Shack

Ok, ok it really is worth the wait.

Some cities have followed the lead of the Cow Parade. Cow Parade claims to be the world’s largest public art event. Miami had the Flamingos and I saw and shot the fish in New Orleans a couple of years ago (seen in my animation below)

Like other big cities the Nashville cats have commissioned artists to create these beautiful painted catfish that appear on the streets of downtown.

One fish , two fish , bluefish.

.. can you hear me now...Wilbur?

Onto every wall, some graffiti must scrawl.

Here's the cool Vette Tim gifted John after a million plus sales of their latest  album featuring John and the other Dancehall Doctors

Yep you can gas up and grab some  gator head along with your phone card in West Bum Georgia.

I am not sure what you're supposed to do with these but it's certain to bring joy to those back home that did not get to go on the American Vacation.
