Several images from my assignments for Rolling Stone during the Democratic and Republican National Conventions as well as the protests against the Viet Nam War and Richard Nixon's second inauguration appeared in Thompson's phenomenal book on the 1972 presidential campaigns referred to as an example of the 20th century's best journalism.
